Here, the Ni-MOF is fabricated by one-step facile hydrothermal method with a modification of mixed solution with DMF and water instead of pure DMF. After characterization, the Ni-MOF exhibits loosely stacked layer-cuboid structure MOF-74 resembles a series of tightly packed straws comprised mostly of carbon atoms (white balls) with columns of zinc ions (blue balls) running down the walls. Heavy hydrogen molecules (green balls) adsorbed in MOF-74 pack into the tubes more densely than they would in solid form. Electronic Supplementary Material (ESI) for Chemical Communications The Co-MOF-74 structure is composed of infinite rods of Co 3 O 3 (CO 2) 3 and DHTP linkers, where Co 2+ is coordinated to three carboxyl and two hydroxyl groups. Crystalline samples of the Co-MOF-74 were obtained through a solvothermal reaction. The sample purity was confirmed by powder x-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns, as shown in Fig. 1(a).
